We are here to talk about one of the most impressive men in India today – Karan Sikri. He’s the founder of one of India’s largest Vermicompost manufacturing units and the brand – Sikri Farms.
He is responsible for bringing organic farming to India and making it mainstream. As a young boy, Karan was always fascinated by soil and its ability to provide crops for us. This led him to study agriculture at universities and eventually start his own brand, where he pioneered organic methods long before it was popular.
In 2004, Karan Ji started a small-scale production of organic fertilizers for his father’s farm to save soil and retain its fertility. He started from scratch and made his way to producing some of the high-quality organic manures without any technology. Soon his hard work resulted in the best production for sugarcanes and other crops, and by 2010, he was the talk of the town for providing 100% organic fertilizers and sugarcane seeds.
With the aim of soil sustainability, he started manufacturing vermicompost fertilizers on a large scale, which gave rise to one of the largest Vermicompost manufacturing units in India and the organic brand – Sikri Farms. The brand has also manufactured vermilizer -an Indo-Korean collaboration product known as magic granules for plant growth. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research even awarded him the Indian National Award in 2016 for his contribution to nano-technology organic farming.
